Color
|
The color of Peridot ranges from pale yellowish
green to medium olive green. We avoid purchasing the yellow and gray tones.

|
Many Peridot contain inclusions of varying size
and quantity. Most of our inventory is

Sources
|
Arizona supplies most of the Peridot used in
jewelry . Burma has a limited quantity of very large, and very fine Peridot.

Treatment
|
Peridot is typically not treated or enhanced.
|

Care
|
Peridot is heat sensitive and should not be
subjected to uneven or rapid heating such as steam cleaning. It is also
sensitive to acid etching and should not be cleaned by a strong ultrasonic
cleaner.

Uses
|
Because of its moderate hardness and durability
Peridot is best used in a well protected ladies' ring or for pendants or
earrings.

Value
|
Peridot is moderately priced but the large fine
material from Burma is significantly higher in price.
