The most common colors of this gem are medium to
dark red, purple, pink, orange and blue.

Sources
|
This rare gemstone is found mainly in Burma, Sri
Lanka Cambodia and Thailand. Because of its rarity it is not well known and
should not be confused with the imitation Spinel most commonly used in
jewellery.

Because of its durability natural Spinel requires
no special care.

|
The "Black Prince" ruby in the British Crown
jewels is actually a dark red Spinal weighing approx. 170 carats.

The brilliant ruby red is the most expensive
