TANZANITE ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Color
|
The color of Tanzanite is a combination of purple
and blue hues varying from light to intense. The rough can be oriented for
cutting to emphasize either color.

Sources
|
Tanzanite was discovered in Tanzania in 1967 and
is the only souce known so far.

Treatment
|
All Tanzanite is heat treated to change its
natural yellowish brown color to blue violet.
|
|
Care
|
Tanzanite is sensitive to sudden temperature
changes and should not be subjected to steam or ultra sonic cleaners. It is
also vulnerable to hydrocloric and other acids.

|
Our material is selected to be eye clean.

Uses
|
Because is it brittle Tanzanite is most suitable
in well protected settings.

Value
|
Although lighter colors are moderately priced the
richer shades are much more expensive. Note- We can acquire larger and darker
stones if desired.
